The Bendel family visited the Marina at McKees Point for the rededication of its lighthouse this fall.
On September 25, McKeesport officials welcomed the Bendel family to the Marina at McKees Point for the rededication of the Mayor Joseph Bendel Memorial Lighthouse.
Mayor Mike Cherepko, Senator Jim Brewster, the Bendel family, and friends spoke of Mayor Bendel’s humor, vision, and commitment to McKeesport. One of Mayor Bendel’s most notable visions for the City of McKeesport was acquisition of the Palisades and development of the Marina — assets still celebrate today.
The memorial lighthouse was damaged in a microburst, and the staff of Vegley Welding rebuilt it.
