Renzie Park improvements under way

Contractor shows bleacher work to city officials

There’s a lot happening in Renzie Park this summer!

On August 23, the City of McKeesport was able to share future plans for Renziehausen Park with the Allegheny Regional Asset District's Board of Directors during an annual hearing on park improvements and operations. Mayor Mike Cherepko’s long-term plan for this regional park includes improvements to our community’s favorite gathering points and athletic facilities. Thanks to RAD support and additional American Rescue Plan funds, just a few things on the 2022 list of capital improvements are the Lions Bandshell, Jimmy Long Field, and dek hockey courts. In 2023, the mayor hopes to make significant improvements to Stephen Barry Field, which is home to International Village and league baseball and softball for all ages.
