Councilwoman V. Fawn Walker-Montgomery

V. Fawn Walker-Montgomery is a lifelong resident of McKeesport. Her political career and civic involvement was inspired in McKeesport as a youth. As a student at McKeesport High School she participated in Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), the student newspaper, and was within the top ten of African Americans with highest Grade Point Average in the Class of 1998.

After high school, she obtained a BA in Political Science, from Johnson C Smith University located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Fawn graduated with the highest Grade Point Average in her major. She was featured in Who's Who among American College Students, and received various academic honors for achieving the Dean's List. There she worked on various political campaigns and lobbied in Raleigh for the "Voters Owned Elections Act." Fawn received a scholarship from the Tuition Exchange Program, North Carolina Congressional Black Caucus, and a Public Service Award for her work with the "Voters Owned Elections Act."

After receiving her B.A. Fawn graduated from Point Park University Summa Cum Laude with Masters of Science in Criminal Justice Administration.

Professionally, she has over eight years of experience in the social services field working with local families and agencies such as Adelphoi Village, Every Child, Incorporated, Macedonia FACE, and Allegheny County Children, Youth, and Families.

Locally she volunteers with Operation Save Our Youth /Rainbow Temple in McKeesport, First Step Recovery Homes, NAAPC, Mon Valley for Obama, Semper Fidelis Club, and National Association of Black Social Worker Pittsburgh Chapter.
